Kelly Ann King, 57, of Hatfield, Pa. passed into the hands of her heavenly father on April 20th, 2022 at the Hospital of the University of Penn., after a courageous 4-year battle with breast cancer. She was born Feb. 11th, 1965 to the late Shirley J. (Dixon) and Gerald L. Miller. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansdale, Pa.
A native of So. Williamsport Pa., she was a 1983 graduate of the South Williamsport Area High School. During her time as a Mountaineer, she excelled in track and softball. After graduation, she went on to run track at Shippensburg University where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science.
Her most current position was that of an Implementation Manager for Accumen Inc.
Kelly was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was the source of light in any room with her quiet demeanor, bright smile and willing laugh. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends and always willing to lend a hand or ear. Through the years, Kelly and her devoted husband Mike put in thousands of miles following their son Andrews Hatfield Ice Dogs Hockey travel teams and made many life time friendships. Those moments and friendships were among her most cherished. She also attended many of her nieces and nephews' sporting and entertainment events as well and would always be a sense of encouragement and security when she was present. They all loved it when Aunt Kelly and Uncle Mike were in the crowd.
Kelly was particularly proud of her ancestry and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a direct descendant of over 60 Civil War veterans. She honored their memories by participating with Thompson's Independent Battery C, a Civil War artillery reenactment organization and visiting many battlefields to walk in the footsteps of her ancestors with husband Mike, her brother Lee and family.
Kelly was a lifelong Penn State Nittany Lion fan and enjoyed traveling to the games and the friendships developed while tailgating. She was particularly happy to witness her son Andrew's graduation from the Penn State Smeal College of Business. She rooted for the Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies regardless of their finish in the standings which quite often did not match her optimistic goals. She enjoyed travel and was always excited for the family's annual trip to Walt Disney World and the Old Key West Resort. She built countless memories there with her family over nearly 50 years' worth of visits. There will always be a void there without her.
Preceding Kelly in death were her parents Shirley and Jerry Miller.
Surviving is her husband of 30 years, Michael King; a son Andrew King, both of Hatfield, two stepsons, Timothy (Tessa) and granddaughter Jessica of Bensalem, Stephen King of Croyden, a brother Lee (Angela) Miller of Montoursville, Pa., nephews Ryan (Alicia) Miller and Matt (Emily) Miller both of Williamsport Pa and a niece Amanda (Joe) Carvill of Bristol England.
A receiving line and memorial service will be held on April 30th, 2022 for friends and family at Messiah Lutheran Church, 324 S. Howard St., So. Williamsport Pa. beginning at 10 a.m. by Pastor, Jeffrey LeCrone and the Reverend Dr. Gary Weaver. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Kelly was the very epitome of a fighter. She took on this battle with breast cancer with unmatched courage and positivity. She needed to be reminded frequently to stop worrying about others and focus on herself. In that spirit, to honor Kelly, the family asks that in lieu of flowers gifts can be made in Kelly's name to support breast cancer research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.

We pray through their research that someday other families may be spared the pain of the loss of a loved one to this dreaded disease.
