Jeanine M. Vitale

Our loving mother, Jeanine M. Vitale, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2022 after a 4-year battle with cancer. She was just 63 years old.

Born in Queens, N.Y., Jeanine moved to Williamsport in 2001, a single mom, with hopes of providing a better life for her children. For 8 years, she managed a local convenience store before a decline in physical health forced a transition to alternative service-driven work. Through it all, one of Jeanine’s proudest achievements was that despite the many challenges she faced as a single mom, her selflessness helped two of her children become first-generation college graduates.

Jeanine’s greatest joy of all was always her family, especially her 4 young grandchildren, Jase, Ryleigh, Vinny, and Leo. Along with her grandchildren, Jeanine is survived by her children, Nicholas, John and Andrea; and her siblings, Carmine, Laura, Lisa, and Ralph. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Kathleen Vitale; and her beloved Rottweilers, Lucky and Mikey.

A private ceremony celebrating Jeanine’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, anyone touched by Jeanine’s grace is encouraged to support the family’s efforts to establish an academic scholarship to help first-generation college students from single-parent households earn a college degree.
