Robert “Bob” Eugene Cressman

Robert “Bob” Eugene Cressman, 78, of Montoursville, passed from this earth and was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at UPMC Muncy, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Williamsport, a son of the late Harold and the late Wilhemina (Merrill) Cressman. Bob graduated from Williamsport High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era from 1963 to 1967 on the USS Damato.

Bob began working at PP&L in 1967, until his retirement as a Lineman Leader in 2000. He loved watching the backyard birds and squirrels, reading, watching Westerns, playing cards, and taking his cats for a walk.

One of Bob’s proudest accomplishments is having traveled through all 50 states twice. He was a very hard worker, a good husband, father, and provider. Bob was always available to lend a hand, and could be counted on to fix anything that went wrong.

Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine E. (Thomas) Cressman; a daughter, Laurie E. (partner, Michael Cipriani) Cressman, of Muncy; a son, Terry E. (Patti) Cressman, of Bellefonte; a sister, Laura Snyder, of Mount Holly, N.J.; feline companion, Maggie; and many grand kitties.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Cressman.

Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, formerly Spitler Funeral Home), 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
