Laura “Gram” Mae Myers

Laura “Gram” Mae Myers, 99, of Muncy, passed away, Feb. 27, 2023 at her residence in Moreland Township.

She was born on the homestead in Muncy on Feb. 11, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Brooks) Harman. On Feb. 20, 1941, Laura married E. Benton Myers, they celebrated 54 years together before his death in 1995.

Laura attended the Muncy Normal School. She was a devoted mother, and worked the family farm along with her husband and children.

She is survived by four children, John S. (Verna Jean) Myers, William B. (June) Myers, Barbara A. Sones, and Robert L. (Judy) Myers, all of Muncy; seven grandchildren, Dale, Ron, Patty, April, Bruce, Marsha, and Michele; and many great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor David Harman, officiating. Burial will follow at Moreland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
