David C. Chapman

David C. Chapman, also known as Bud, passed away on April 15, 2023, at the age of 79, in Williamsport. He was born on April 15, 1944, in Williamsport.

Dave was a retired employee of Litton Electron Devices, Williamsport. He was a man of many talents and interests. Dave loved spending time outdoors, fishing and hiking in his younger years.

After his retirement, he spent his time looking for arrowheads in local fields, amassing a collection of well over 100 finds. He was a published poet and book writer, and his true passion was researching his family tree, and recording his family history.

Dave was also an accomplished carpenter and craftsman. He was creative, and always had a project he was working on.

He read through the Bible 12 times, believing that wisdom was found in the pages.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Jenny R. Chapman-Hull (David Milburn), of Montgomery, and Holly A. Chapman, who was his caregiver of 20 years, and with whom he resided. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Joy Barilla (Adam), of Montgomery, and Sara Plants (Hyon) of Williamsport; four great-grandsons, Isaac, Ethan, Eli, and Quin; brothers, James and Gary Chapman; sister Roxanne; and many nieces and nephews he loved. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Arthur Chapman; brothers, Wesley, Clair, Arthur, Robert, John, and James Allan; and sisters, Eleanor, Martha, Leona, Sarah, and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at Family Promise at the Castellano Center, 318 Park Avenue, Williamsport, on April 29, at 10 a.m.
