JoAnn Mae Strouble

JoAnn Mae Strouble, 89, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023. She was born on July 19, 1933, to Herbert and Harriet Smith. JoAnn was a woman of profound faith, and her devotion to God served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Raised on a farm, JoAnn's hands knew the value of hard work, and her heart knew the importance of family. She found her forever love in Raymond Strouble. Their life together was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual respect, which lasted more than seven decades.

JoAnn leaves behind her devoted husband, Raymond Strouble; and their five cherished children, Raymond Strouble Jr. (Helen McGrath), Linda Beers, Tammy Winters (Wayne), Janice Freezer (Dennis Rotoli), and Clayton Strouble (Rhonda). Despite the sorrow of her departure, her children take comfort in knowing their mother's love, guidance, and spirit live on in them.

She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Peggy Smith; brother-in-law, Phillip Dorman; and stepbrother, Ronald Haldeman (Linda).

JoAnn had an irresistible zest for life, which was most visible in her passions. She was a born again Christian, and a charter member of Lycoming Valley Baptist Church. She was an expert in the kitchen, sewing room, and quilting circle, and the true testament of JoAnn's talents were the countless quilts, crochet pieces, and meals she lovingly created for her family and friends.

Preceding JoAnn in death were her parents; her stepmother, Hazel Smith; her brothers, Edgar and Dale Smith; her sister, Nancy Dorman; and her stepsister, Mabel Maggs. Her passing has no doubt led to a joyful reunion.

JoAnn's profound love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her welcoming nature will be dearly missed.

A funeral service to honor JoAnn's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Lycoming Valley Baptist Church, 4980 Lycoming Mall Drive, Montoursville, with Pastor Tim Snyder officiating.
