Nancy R. Hess, 93, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at The Gatehouse.
Born March 24, 1930, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Edward and Julia (Mills) Vought. Nancy was the wife of Herman H. Hess Jr., with whom she shared 73 years of marriage.
Nancy loved to travel, watch her daily Judge TV shows, soap operas, especially General Hospital, and on Saturday two hours of Polka dancing. She enjoyed taking care of her family, her daily walks, baking, cooking, and the daily interactions she had with her neighbors.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Paul) Ault, of Williamsport; sons, Gary (Connie) Hess, of Jersey Shore, David (Diane) Hess, of Montoursville, John Hess, of Williamsport; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and 11 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. Hess Jr.; son, Charles Hess; 5 sisters, and 6 brothers.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Rev. Larry L. Leland Jr. officiating. A burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to the Gate House, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
