Warren William "Skip" Carson, Montoursville, passed away Oct. 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Skip was born on July 19, 1950, to Eulodia Blanche Ertley and Warren Henry Carson in Williamsport. He met his wife, Cathy Jean "Kate" Gehr, while attending Montoursville Area High School, where he was president of the FFA. Skip graduated high school in 1969 and married Kate a short while later on Nov. 15, 1969.
He began working at Mahaffey's Body Shop in 1967 before moving on to a job with Bethlehem Steel. Skip spent most of his life as the owner of Carson's Auto Wrecking, which began in 1964 when he junked his very first car.
Above all else, Skip loved farming and tending to his cows, especially his baby calves. When he wasn't on a tractor or fixing up a car in the body shop alongside his son, he could often be found chatting with his friends in the garage or watching a western movie with his wife that he'd already seen a dozen times.
Skip was also an avid classic car collector--he loved restoring them and popping in at car shows with his grandchildren. He rarely missed a hunting season or Sunday dinners with his family spent playing his favorite card game, Setback.
Skip is survived by his wife, Kate; one daughter, Nicole Jean Brungardt; two sons, Warren William "Bill" (Melissa) Carson, and Jacob Henry (Lisa) Carson; and four grandchildren, Olivia Rowe, Will, Samuel, and Emmie "Button" Carson.
