Ronald E. Dailey Jr., 37, affectionately known as Dailey, was born on Feb. 6, 1986, in Jersey Shore. He was a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many during his time on this earth. He died tragically in his last heroic act, and he departed from us on Jan. 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire.
Dailey lived a life dedicated to the well-being of others. For three years, he served as a security guard for Lycoming Engines, ensuring the safety of those around him. His commitment to protecting and helping others extended beyond his professional life. As an active firefighter at Independent Hose Company No. 1 of Jersey Shore, Dailey displayed unwavering bravery and selflessness. His heroic efforts during the fire at the Broadway earned him commendations and recognition from the Pennsylvania Governor.
Born with a beautiful soul, Dailey had a passion for spending time with his family and friends. He cherished every moment shared with loved ones, creating memories that will forever be treasured. He attended Echo Hope Church in Mill Hall.
Dailey's interests included cheering for Notre Dame, Penn State, and the Eagles football teams, as well as passionately supporting the Phillies baseball team. He also adored his fur babies, Nittany and Nala, who brought him immeasurable joy.
Dailey's dedication to his community and firefighting led him to become Lieutenant at Independent Hose Co. No. 1. He was a shining example of courage and leadership, inspiring those around him to be their best selves.
In the midst of his accomplishments, Dailey faced the loss of his maternal grandparents, Lewis R. and Sally Crossley, as well as his uncle, Lewis R. Crossley Jr., and a best friend, Mike Freezer. However, his spirit remained strong, and he continued to be a pillar of strength for those around him.
Dailey is survived by his loving fiance and best friend of three years, Deborah Rosamilia, of Lock Haven. He will forever be remembered by his mother, Linda (Brian) Starr of Linden; and his father, Ronald E. (Christina) Dailey Sr. of Genesee. His memory will also live on through his children, Owen Dailey of Jersey Shore and Makenna Moore of Lock Haven, and stepdaughter Renae (Hunter) Shoemaker; Dailey's sister, Nichol (Cory) Sites and niece, SkyLynn Saar of Linden; stepsister Bethany Dailey of Genessee; and stepbrother Eric Dailey of Lock Haven; a mother-in-law, Debbie "Nanny" Rosamilia of Lock Haven; as well as a special uncle Andy and aunt Bev Kauffman that he was close with his whole life, will carry his legacy forward. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his presence.
Services to honor Dailey's life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from noon to 2 p.m. at Independent Hose Company No. 1, located at 130 Pennsylvania Ave. in Jersey Shore. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Chaplin Bill Stankiewicz officiating.
