Elizabeth J. "Betty" Pinsonneault passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was 87.
Betty Pinsonneault could light up a room like a rare jewel that shined so bright, you felt lucky just to be near her. Betty had a big personality and even bigger heart. She fiercely loved her family and friends. To know her, was to know true style and good taste. She was a prolific floral and interior designer, world traveler, and master gardener. Betty was always the life of the party. She was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved to exchange good stories over a glass of wine, often reminiscing about her grand adventures and her pursuit of a life well-lived.
Betty was born on Oct. 3, 1936 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Leo and Susan Parent. She grew up in Belle River, Ontario, and married Luke E. Pinsonneault in 1954. The couple became naturalized U.S. citizens in 1967 and settled in Columbus, IN, where they raised their three children.
Betty worked as a floral designer and owned a small boutique. After remarrying Luke in 1996, Betty moved to Williamsport where she was an interior design consultant. In retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends. They moved back to Columbus in 2010.
She is survived by her children, Elaine DeClue, Dan Pinsonneault, Cathy Schooler; brothers, Bob Parent and Fr. Mike Parent; grandchildren, Kelly Glick, Isaac DeClue, Meghan Pinsonneault, Lukas Schooler, Morgan Pinsonneault, Courtney Gatesy; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Luke, and grandson, Mackenzie DeClue.
Catholic funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus. Live-stream available at saintbartholomew.org.
