H. Dean Peterman, 95, of Dushore, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at The Gardens at Millville.
Born Feb. 9, 1929, in Nordmont, he was a son of the late Chester and Mary C. (Knouse) Peterman. He attended and graduated from Sullivan County High School. He and his late wife, Lila G. (Mordan) Peterman were married on Oct. 13, 1961, and shared a wonderful life together. Hugh was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing as a musician in a band with his siblings playing all over Sullivan County. He was previously employed as a machine operator with former railroad company, Koppers, Inc.
He is survived by his daughter, Mildred "Millie" Z. Boyer, of Unityville; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A time of visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St, Hughesville. Burial will be held privately in the Lungerville Cemetery, Unityville.
