Lyman "Bub" Milroy, 89, of Montoursville passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at Heritage Springs Memory Care, Muncy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling.
Born in Mountain Top on July 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Lyman D. and Crystal V. (Kirkuff) Milroy. He was married to the former Janet Wagner . Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage until her death in 2006.
Bub was a graduate of Milton High School and received a bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and master's from Bucknell University. He served in the US Air Force and was a mathematics professor at Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology.
He is survived by three children and their spouses, Steven A. and Sharon Milroy of Burlington, N.C., Susan J. and Dennis Shoemaker of Montoursville, and Karen D. and Robert Gordon of Winthrop, Wash.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his companion, Wahneeta Welter.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Veryl J. Milroy; and two sisters, Shirley A. Bergen and Jean D. Aimetti.
Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N Front St., Milton.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Carol Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, Lewisburg.
