Elaine C. Peterman

Elaine C. Peterman, 95, of Muncy, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville. Elaine was the wife of Robert C. Peterman, who were married on Aug. 3, 1946. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage together until Robert’s death in August of 1991.

Born Nov. 12, 1928 in Shrewsbury Township, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Theora (Myers) Worthington.

Elaine was a 1946 graduate of Sonestown High School. She lived on the family dairy farm in Franklin Township for over 70 years, where she worked milking cows, making hay, and butchering, all while raising her eight children.

Elaine enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening, her flowers, and mowing her yard. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, baking, canning, and cooking for her family, as well as spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine was there to help her family when needed.

Surviving are four daughters, Connie (Paul) Schultz, of Muncy, Karen Peterman, of Duboistown, Janice (Lester) Yonkin, of Montoursville, and Cherie (David) Craft, of Hughesville; three sons, Kendall (Cheryl) Peterman, of Muncy, Robert G. (Joyce) Peterman, of Muncy, and Kash (Peggy) Peterman, of Williamsport; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Peterman, of Muncy; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was preceded in death by three sons, James, Kerry, and Cole Peterman; two sisters, Marion Swisher, and Mildred Nevius; and two brothers, Emery and Gale Worthington.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pa. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Sonestown, Pa. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the funeral home.
