George F. Watts

George F. Watts, 70, of Unityville, Pa died April 13, 2024, at his home under the brief care of UPMC Hospice.

Born November 4, 1953, in Bloomsburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Ralph H. and Maude (Hittle) Watts. He attended Millville High School in his younger years. He and his wife Donna E. (Whitmoyer) Watts of Unityville, shared a wonderful 37 years of life together having married on May 17, 1986. George was a devoted husband who enjoyed hunting and fishing, mentoring his many nephews and nieces, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers Mark Martin, Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney. He was previously employed by Millville Lumber Products and later retired in 2019 from Lewis Lumber Products in Picture Rocks as a lumber handler.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna, is a brother, Clair (Gale) Watts, of Millville; a sister-in-law, Darla Watts, of Unityville; and numerous nephews and nieces.

George was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry and Wayne Watts; and a sister in infancy, Ruby Watts.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. April 22, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home Hughesville, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pennsylvania, with Diane Bubb, S.A.M., officiating. Burial will follow at Gordners Cemetery, Unityville. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Unityville Fire Company, St. John Lutheran (Gordners) Church or cemetery, or mentor children to hunt and fish in George’s memory.
