Jean I. (Simpson) Lambert

Jean I. (Simpson) Lambert, 81, of Hughesville, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born November 7, 1942, in Sayre, Pa., she was a daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Peet) Simpson. Jean graduated from Canton High School in 1960, and continued her education at Williamsport Area Community College where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Having married on May 25, 1968, she and her late husband, Melvin C. "Charley" Lambert, shared a wonderful 43 years together before his passing on November 3, 2011.

Jean was employed as an LPN by Williamsport and Divine Hospitals for over 40 years. Jean loved spending time with her family sharing humor and enjoying the practical jokes from her family. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events, going to lunches with friends, and reading a good book or puzzle. In years past, she anticipated attending the Little League World Series games in Williamsport.

She is survived by her only son, Michael J. (Amy) Lambert, of Hughesville; four grandchildren: Justin Lambert, Taryn (Rylan) Lewis, Megan Ryder and Derek Lambert.

In addition to her husband, Jean was preceded in death by her grandson, Quinn Lambert.

In keeping with Jeans wishes, services will be held privately for the family, and she will be laid to rest with her husband in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, is honored to be serving the family.
