Wende Renee McDonald Miele passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2024. She was 59 years old and living with her good friend Chrissy Kennedy.
Always the life of the party, Wende had a vibrant personality and a huge heart--her costumes (remember the Energizer Bunny) and pumpkin carvings were the showpiece of any Halloween gathering, and her cooking skills (and bartending skills--cosmopolitans were her favorite) meant she was welcome at any event.
She was devoted to her grandmother, Daisy Miele and from her learned a passion for good food. Wende was a lover of life, and an excellent cook, though many may remember her more as a server, since she spent many years of her life as a waitress at two family establishments, the Court and Willow Cafe and the Herdic House.
Wende is not survived by any immediate family, but will be mourned by a constellation of cousins, aunts and uncles in the Williamsport area, as well as the many friends she's been so close to over the years.
A memorial will be held at the Peter Herdic House, 407 W. Fourth Street, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wende's name to the Lycoming County SPCA.
