Irene A. Coolidge

Irene A. Coolidge, 84, of South Williamsport died unexpectedly at UPMC Williamsport E.R. on June 15, 2024 after being stricken at home.

She was born in Bastress Twp. on October 18, 1939, a daughter of Charles and Frances (Winter) Shuhler.

Irene was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the church’s auxiliary, and had been employed as a secretary for the Little League Baseball. She was also a member of the Duboistown Garden Club.

Her husband of 46 years, Thomas Coolidge, preceded her in death on May 4, 2019.

Surviving are their sons, Edward “Ed” (Jaime) Coolidge of South Williamsport and Andrew “Andy” (Melanie) Coolidge of Trussville, Ala; grandchildren, Ryan and Peyton Coolidge, and Andrew and Emma Coolidge; siblings, John Shuhler of Linden, Helen (Steve) Noon, and Jane Shuhler of Oval.

In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert H. Dougherty, Edward Shuhler, and Thomas R. Eck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on June 21, 2024 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 West Central Ave., South Williamsport, Pa 17702 with Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park.
