Jean Marie Paternostro

Jean Marie Paternostro, formerly Santalucia, a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Morgantown, WV. Born on July 27, 1934, in Williamsport, Pa, Jean brought warmth and kindness into the lives of all who knew her throughout her remarkable ninety years.

Jean's story began as the cherished daughter of Antonio and Teresa Santalucia, whose values and love shaped the wonderful person she became. In her hometown, she met and married Louis Paternostro, her beloved husband of 53 years, who predeceased her. Together, they created a legacy of love and family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Caroline Riccardo, Laura Early, Helen Ash, and Augustine Santalucia; her brothers, Albert, Wilson, and Dominic Santalucia; and precious grandchild, Gillian.

Jean's devotion to her family was unwavering. She was a dedicated mother to three sons, Mark Paternostro of Morgantown, WV; Andrew Paternostro of Charleston, WV; and Patrick Paternostro of Lodi, Calif. The joy of her life extended to her grandchildren--Alex, Luca, Maia, Isabella, Angelo, Morgan, Rocco, and Dominic, who she leaves behind. She is also survived by her sister, Annabelle Horrigan, and her brother, Tony Santalucia.

While working for Gardeners Candies and DiSalvo's Pasta, Jean's dedication was second only to her devotion to her family. Her love for cooking was an expression of love and a way to gather her family and celebrate.

A faithful member of Mater Dolorosa and the Church of the Annunciation, Jean's commitment to her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As an avid sports fan, she was known to support Penn State Football, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia Phillies with enthusiasm.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will occur at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish at 711 West Edwin Street Williamsport, Pa 17701. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made or her behalf to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
