Nancy B. Steinbacher
Nancy B. Steinbacher, 93, of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at Lakeside Place Assisted Living. Born in Williamsport, Pa on May 5, 1931, Nancy was a graduate from Williamsport High School. She met the love of her life, Michael “Mick” Steinbacher at a New Year’s Eve party and was happily married for 61 years until his passing in 2018. Nancy’s greatest joy was her husband and family. They were wonderful examples for their five children bringing much love and laughter. Annual vacations at the Jersey shore and Myrtle Beach were enjoyed with family and friends with lots of card playing. You never wanted to go head-to-head with Nancy because you always knew she had the winning hand. She had a passion for collecting and selling antiques at Nancy’s Antiques in the Roller Mills of Lewisburg, and would travel from Maine to Florida with Mick buying antiques. She was well known at the local auctions for her knowledge, expertise and keen eye long before Antiques Road Show appeared on TV, which was her favorite show. She was a kind person, always with a smile, and will be missed by all.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Michael Steinbacher and son, Mark Steinbacher; parents, Carl, Sr. and Nellie (Heller) Emick; and brother, Carl, Jr. She is survived by her children, Karen Labbate, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla, David (Michelle), Bonny Lake, Wash, Lori Newton, Denver, Colo, Michael (Sharon), Lexington, SC; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Williamsport. The family of Nancy Steinbacher wishes to thank the staff at Lakeside, her personal assistants and the compassionate caregivers at Agape Hospice.
