Mary Jane “GiGi” Steinbacher

Mary Jane “GiGi” Steinbacher, 79, of Jersey Shore, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 3, 1945 in Williamsport, she was a daughter to the late Oran Engler and the former Gladys Stackhouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Steinbacher Jr.; two sisters, Dixie Orcutt and Jean Hoffman; and a brother, Sonny Engler.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri L. (Vern) Wasson, of Jersey Shore and Elisa A. (Bob) Howard, of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Beaver, Collin (Felicia) Beaver and Logan (Kelly) Beaver); three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Rylee, Carleigh and Myleigh, and one on the way; two siblings, Jim Engler, of Iowa and Judy Little, of Pittsburgh; two sister-in-laws, Diane E. (Larry) Swarthout, of Jersey Shore and Debbie M. (Steve) Sweitzer, of Jersey Shore; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore. Following the Mass, the family invites all for a time of food and fellowship. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Jersey Shore Cemetery at a later date. www.WelkerFuneralHome.com.
