Sandra Nittinger Eck

Sandra Nittinger Eck, 79, of Linden and Venice, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 25, at her home in Florida.

Born on Aug. 22, 1945 in Williamsport, the daughter of John P. and Connie F. (Hennigan) Nittinger.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Stephen Eck; brother, James (Charlene) Nittinger, of Montoursville; sisters-in-law, Karen Nittinger, of Williamsport, Sarah Nittinger, of Mansfield and Sarah Light; and brothers-in-law, Scott, Stanley and Seth Eck; along with several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marc Nittinger and John P. Nittinger Jr.

A graduate of Loyalsock Township High School and Lock Haven State College, Sandra was a high school teacher in Muncy, where she taught physical education, was a cheerleader advisor and coached girls basketball.

Sandra then became business manager for Eck Dentistry in Williamsport.

Sandra was an avid tennis player and played daily with her Florida Tennis ladies.

Sandra coached both of her nieces at Montoursville High School and is still carrying on the coaching tradition to the next generation of great-niece, Lilley and great-nephews, Landon, Cole, Cruz and Cam.

She also enjoyed attending all their baseball and softball games, where she was their greatest cheerleader.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
