Cindy L. Ryder

Cindy L. Ryder, 70, of Duboistown, woke up in Heaven in the early morning hours on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. There, she was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had been a resident at Edenbrook South Rehabilitation & Nursing Center since February. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Jeffrey W. Ryder.

Born March 18, 1955, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John and Gladys (Sones) Westphal.

Cindy, a 1973 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, devoted many years of her life to the Williamsport Area School District as a classroom aide. Her commitment to education and the well-being of the children she worked with left a lasting impact on the community.

Cindy attended Hillview Baptist Church. She loved to travel just about anywhere, but especially enjoyed family trips to the beach. However, it was the time spent with her family that Cindy cherished the most. She was the heart of family gatherings, her presence a comforting and unifying force that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her four devoted daughters, Erin M. Forsythe (Matt) of Oxford, Christi Mahonski (Bob Gregory) of Dewart, Amanda K. Smith of South Williamsport, and Lindsey S. Gorton (Anthony) of South Williamsport; seven grandchildren: Wyatt Forest, Brendan, John Gabriel “Gabe,” and Lily Forsythe; Samantha, Bocephus, and Maggie Gregory; three brothers, John Westphal of FL, Donald Westphal (Margi) of NC, David Westphal (Beth) of OH; and a sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Belcher (Roy) of Williamsport; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Thank you to Hillview Baptist church for their many meals provided.

A memorial service to honor the life of Cindy will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
