Dorothy R. Stabler

Dorothy R. Stabler, 93, of Montoursville, passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Hillside Senior Living.

Born July 19, 1931 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Dangle) Ulmer. She was a 1948 graduate of Montoursville High School and began working at First National Bank in Montoursville upon graduation.

On Aug. 19, 1950, she married her husband, Andrew W. Stabler, and shared almost 63 years of marriage before his passing in May of 2013.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church, Montoursville, as well as Christian Women’s Club and Bible Study Fellowship. She also loved to play the piano and blessed many people with her musical gift.

Surviving are four children, Kevin (Katherine) Stabler, of Trout Run, Dr. Craig (Dawn) Stabler, of Williamsport, Kurt (Janet) Stabler, of Dunn, N.C., and Saundra Shanti, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 10 siblings.

In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, services will be held privately at convenience of the family.
