Elizabeth “Libby” Rachel Treese-Giambrone

Elizabeth “Libby” Rachel Treese-Giambrone, 43, of Wilmington, Del., passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 4, following a brief illness.

A devoted mother, Libby enjoyed tending plants and flowers, crocheting and helping her neighbors. She was also an animal lover and was known to rescue baby birds and wildlife, nurturing them back to health.

Libby was born April 24, 1982 in Danbury, Conn., to Cynthia Getgen Dawson (Jeffery) and Gerald (Jamie) Treese.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert; their two children, Ava-Theresa and Alec, and their loyal pets; as well as her sister, Laura Treese Kriger (Joshua); nephew, Noah; niece, Emma; stepsisters, Erin Miller Guns (Nicholas), Rachel Miller and Tiffany Dawson; and stepbrother, Travis Dawson (Nicole); nephews, Ayden, Nicholas, Carter and Porter; and nieces, Lillian and Maddy.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Clair (Sam) and June Getgen and Rosemary and Joseph Treese.

Libby grew up in the Williamsport, area, attended Muncy Junior/Senior High School, and attended Cecil County Community College. She worked at MBNA and Bank of America before becoming a full-time mother to her beloved children.

Anyone who knew Libby will remember her sense of humor and compassion for all, both strangers and those closest to her.

She was creative, smart, quick-witted and left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved her.

Her home was covered in the artwork of her children, something that brought her great joy. She was happiest spending time with her family, pets and especially her treasured, dog Karma. Her unique light and presence will be profoundly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 15 at Mealey’s Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware, with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and a service immediately following at 11 a.m.
