Erma G. Harris, 100, of Trout Run, died Thursday, May 22, 2025, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence. Born Nov. 15, 1924 in Trout Run, she was a daughter of Henry and Emma (Mundrick) Jacoby.
Erma married Milton A. Harris on Oct. 20, 1943, and shared 61 years of marriage prior to his passing on Dec. 16, 2004.
Erma was a very humble person whose life revolved around her church, Wallis Run United Methodist Church and her family.
For many years, Erma taught Sunday school. Neighbors, friends and even strangers reached out to her for her knowledge of the local family's history. Erma had a wonderful work ethic. She loved going to work and was proud of her work as a quality controller. Erma never missed a day at work.
Erma is survived by her son, Wayne M. (Audrey) Harris, of Wyoming; grandsons, Jeff W. (Judy) Harris, of Trout Run, Matthew C. Harris, of Hyde Park, N.Y.; great-granddaughter, Molly L. (Logan) Laidacker.
In addition to her parents and husband, Erma was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Jacoby.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Rev. Dr. James R. Behrens officiating. Burial will follow in Barbours Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to The Gatehouse 1100 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA 17701, C/O The Gatehouse.
