Florence M. Metzger

Florence M. Metzger, 101, widow of Jack A. Metzger, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.

She was born in South Williamsport on Jan. 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Lydia (Williamson) Riggle. Florence was employed by Lycoming College in the housekeeping department. She was a life-long member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Williamsport.

Florence is survived by a son, John A. (Ginny) Metzger, of Linden; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; six nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jack, Florence is preceded in death by a son, Robert Metzger; two daughters, Sandra Metzger and Barbara Whittaker; and two sisters, Shirley Rank and Eleanor Riggle.

Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport. The Funeral Service will begin at noon on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Carol Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
