Harold L. Walburn

Harold L. Walburn, 89, of Muncy, died Friday, May 16, 2025, peacefully at his home. His wife Edna (Bower) Walburn preceded him in death on February 7, 2010.

Born July 8, 1935, in Milton, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mary (Botts) Walburn. He attended Turbotville Schools. Early in his life, Harold worked J.C. Decker and Montgomery Mills. He also worked at The Log Cabin Inn, then owned and operated H.&E. Creekside Tavern in Muncy. He then worked at the Pine Tavern Inn, Laporte, then Hess Department Store, then Kaufmann's Department Store, where he retired from. Harold was a life member of the Selinsgrove Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, spending time with family, picnics, and good vanilla ice cream.

Surviving are five children, Terry Walburn of Muncy, Roger Walburn of Muncy, Beverly Swank of Stillwater, Jerry Walburn of Muncy, Jeffery (Michele) Walburn of Montgomery; a brother, Eugene "Butch" Walburn of Muncy; special friends, Gidget Westbrook of Muncy, and Ron Long of Williamsport; 23 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by three sisters; six brothers; a daughter-in-law, Susan Walburn; a son-in-law, Bill Swank; a granddaughter, Crystal Walburn; and a grandson Joe Campbell.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market Street Muncy, PA, 17756, with Rev. Richard N. Robinson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E Water St. Hughesville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold's name to the First United Methodist Church, Muncy, at the address above.
