Janice Laura Belle Mitcheltree
Janice Laura Belle Mitcheltree, 85, of Williamsport passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Gatehouse surrounded by family.
Born March 6, 1940, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Martin Reynolds Sr. and Marian (Wicks) Plank.
On August 4, 1965, Janice married the love of her life, Richard L. Mitcheltree. Together, they shared nearly 60 wonderful years, building a life filled with love and cherished memories.
She dedicated over 40 years of compassionate service as a medical technician and personal caregiver at Fullmer’s Personal Care Home. She was a faithful member of the Williamsport Seventh-day Adventist Church, remembered for her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to God. With quiet strength and loving kindness, she inspired others to grow in their faith and find comfort in the hope of heaven.
Janice found joy in gardening, especially in tending to her flowers, and she took pride in canning the fruits of her labor. Known for her generous spirit and loving heart, she was always ready to share kindness with those around her.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Paula Moore of Cogan Station, Joy Bryan of Williamsport, Mark Mitcheltree (Marcia) of Trout Run, Richard Mitcheltree of Trout Run, and Janine Oliver (James) of Henderson, KY; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Martin Reynolds Jr. of Williamsport, Charles Reynolds of Williamsport, and Marsha Plank of MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Green and brother, Michael Plank.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janice’s name to Williamsport Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 410 E. Southern Ave, South Williamsport, PA 17702 to support mission outreach.
A funeral service to honor Janice’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport with her Pastor Roy Weeden officiating. Burial will follow in Barbours Cemetery, Barbours. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Sanders.
