Ronald Lee Guthrie, Sr.
Ronald Lee Guthrie, Sr., 92, of Williamsport, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Valley View Nursing Center.
Born July 12, 1932, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Clyde and Ella (Fay) Guthrie. He married the previous Shirley A. Weaver on April 22, 1950, sharing over 75 years together. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Williamsport Technical Institute. Ronald followed in his father’s footsteps and became a talented carpenter. He started his own business completing carpentry, building, and remodeling, working for over 50 years. He was known for saying, “If you’re going to do something, do it right”, a reflection of the impressive craftsmanship he always exuded.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Shirley Guthrie of Williamsport; two sons, Ronald Lee (Sharon L.) Guthrie, Jr. of Cogan Station, and David L. Guthrie of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Brittany (Matt) Logan and Nicholas (Andrea) Guthrie, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
A funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home- Montoursville, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Martin Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will provide flowers.
