S. Jean Kile

S. Jean Kile, 83, of Hughesville, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at UPMC Hospital, Williamsport.
Born June 21, 1941, in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of Paul and Zoe (Beagle) Robbins. She and her husband, the late Robert W. Kile, shared a wonderful life of 66 years together until his passing on September 6, 2024. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for her family and playing cards and board games. She and her husband enjoyed spending time together delivering newspapers for the Sun-Gazette and the Shopper. She enjoyed engaging in activities such as reading, cooking, watching game shows, and going on trips to the casino. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Darla Andrews, of Hughesville, Joanne (James) Hecknauer, of Cogan Station, and Cathy Keeler, of Hughesville; a son, Michael (Shannon) Kile, of Muncy; four grandchildren; Carman (Christopher) Montgomery, Travis Eiswerth, Eliza and Olivia Kile; two great grandchildren, Nola (Ryan) Hill, and Leah Eiswerth; a great great-granddaughter, Claire Hill; and a sister, Nancy Rider, of Watsontown.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Hecknauer; a great-granddaughter, Jolisa Kennedy; a sister, Patsy O’Connor; and a brother, Carl Robbins.
Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Ronald G. Montgomery, officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
