Bernard F. Steinbacher
Bernard F. Steinbacher passed away on June 4, 2025, peacefully with his family at his side in Conway, South Carolina. He was born on January 19, 1936, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Laverne and Marion Eiswerth Steinbacher. His loving wife, Mary J. Frye Steinbacher passed away in August 2021.
Bernie and Mary loved traveling, especially on cruises, playing golf and spending time with family. He loved working with wood and making wood art pieces with his son.
He was an incredible man; truly one of a kind. His presence was unforgettable, with a love and friendship he shared with his family and friends throughout his life.
Bernie retired from Lonza of Williamsport, Pennsylvania after 38 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Donna L. Bower and her husband William C. Bower, of Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Betty Steinbacher of Muncy; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson, exciting news – a second great great grandson was born literally moments ago; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his wife, Mary he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah A. McDermott and her husband Michael, son, Patrick F. Steinbacher; brothers, Michael, Karl Lloyd, Ronald and sisters, Pauline and Lorraine; sister-in- law, Nancy Steinbacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on June 12, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. 4th St., Williamsport PA 17701 with Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Burial to follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
