Christine R. (Reed) Smith

Christine R. (Reed) Smith, 74, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, at The Williamsport Home.

Born on December 20, 1950, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Shemery) Reed. Christine, affectionately known as Christy, was a 1969 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School. She continued her education at Williamsport Area Community College, where she was a proud and longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

On August 12, 1972, Christy married the love of her life, Harry Smith. They shared 47 devoted years together and raised two sons, building a life centered on love, laughter, and family. Christy worked as a dedicated paraprofessional in the Montoursville School District until her retirement, and her compassion for the students she served left a lasting impression.

Christy had a passion for reading, crafting, and crocheting. She enjoyed cozy movie nights and quiet afternoons with her favorite TV shows. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, her many friends, and especially the children whose lives she touched in the school community.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Jeaniene) Smith of Montoursville and William (Jayne) Smith of Fountain Inn, SC; her beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Micah, Noah, Jacob, and Morgan; her sister, Susan Bubb; her niece, Angela Fessler; and great-nieces, Chelsea and Erin.

In addition to her parents, Christy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry.
