Eugene I. Harris, 90, of Montoursville, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence. Born April 30, 1935, in Montoursville, he was a son of the late James Harris and Dorothy (Fry) Harris.
He and his wife Marian shared a wonderful life together and had been married since October 21, 1967.
Eugene graduated from Montoursville High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, Eugene was employed as a bank teller at the First National Bank in Montoursville. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville. He was also a member of the Montoursville Senior Citizen's Club. In his free time, Eugene enjoyed bowling, golfing at Eagles Mere, and playing bocci-ball. He was lovingly known for leading the red team to success during their bocci-ball games.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Marian; his daughter, Kathy Harris, of Newark, DE; as well as a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wagner.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Harris.
A memorial service for Eugene will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 369 Broad Street Montoursville, on Thursday June 26, at 11 a.m. with Reverend James I. Bartlett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Eugene's hospice community, The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
