Gladys M. Boyer, 77, of Muncy, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence.
Born May 1, 1948, in Hughesville, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Marjorie (Day) Shaner. She and her late husband Larry shared a wonderful life together until his passing in 2009.
Gladys graduated from Hughesville High School and was employed as a Quality Control Supervisor at Shop-Vac in Williamsport until her retirement. She was known for her love of Elvis, chocolate ice cream, bowling, and completing fill-it-in puzzles. Gladys's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, and especially playing Yahtzee with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Boyer, of Muncy; a son, Matthew (Carey) Boyer, of Broadway, VA; six grandsons, Tristen, Griffin, Mason, Patrick, Colin, and Declan Boyer; and two sisters, Evelyn Burkhart, of Hughesville, and Harriet Miller, of Watsontown.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Boyer, and a son, Michael Boyer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, with Pastor Becky B. Cuddeback officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
