Shirley Ann (Englert) Terry

Shirley Ann (Englert) Terry of 47 Keyser Circle, Williamsport Pa, born February 12, 1929, went to her eternal home Tuesday, June 17th. Shirley, daughter of Emerson Porter Englert and Bertha Kulp Englert (both deceased), was born in Williamsport, Pa and resided in Montoursville, Williamsport, and Lewisburg most of her life. She graduated from Montoursville High School and attended Eastern Bible College, now University of Valley Forge, in Valley Forge, Pa. Thereafter, she married Harold Burton Terry, also of Williamsport, on November 28, 1953 and would be celebrating their 72nd wedding anniversary this coming November 2025.

Shirley was one of five children: preceded in death is a sister, Eva Englert Ulrich and brothers; Kenneth and Richard. Shirley was also preceded in death by precious niece Elizabeth Ulrich. Shirley is survived by sister, Rhonda Englert Bassett of Jersey Shore, Pa.

Additionally, Shirley is survived by her husband Harold, daughter Brenda Terry-Manchester (George A Manchester), sons Hal Burton E. Terry (Lettie), and Marc Emerson Terry (Karen). Harry J Ulrich of South Williamsport, Pa, while a nephew, was also like a son to Shirley. Grandchildren include Jason Terry, Andrew Terry, Morgan Terry Manchester Ritchie, Meredith Terry Manchester, Maggie Terry Manchester Fantaskey and step-grandchildren Todd McQuillen, Brian McQuillen, Eric McQuillen, and Jeremy Manchester. Another beloved grandchild, Chad Emerson Terry, is deceased. Great grandchildren include Jason Terry Jr, Cameron Terry, and Cameron Fantaskey. Additionally there are 13 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.

Shirley, known to her family and others as ‘Mam’, is beloved by countless for the ways in which she served her church, ran her business, fought through many tragic losses and physical challenges, mentored young couples, cared for her children and their friends, and teamed up with her husband in business partnerships, parenting, and befriending nearly anyone who crossed their paths. She has been a long-time member in both the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship – both in which she has served as Sunday School teacher, youth leader, choir member, and piano accompanist.

Career wise, Shirley and Harold founded Truck & Trailer Sales, a truck and trailer sales, service, transportation, and rental company in Selinsgrove, PA that operated under their leadership until 2023, at which time it was sold to a similar company out of Syracuse, NY.

Shirley loved to sing, play the piano, and travel to gospel music concerts with Harold and family. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, playing Rummikub, and social gatherings.

Without a doubt, the most notable characteristics of Shirley were her faith, her steadfast prayer-life, and her confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. To virtually anyone who came in contact with Shirley, be they close family/friends or casual acquaintances, Shirley’s foremost motivation was to evidence her reliance on the gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage all to experience the life-changing impact of becoming a disciple of Christ.

Friends and family are invited to a Visitation Hour on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 2823 Old Turnpike Road, Route 45, Lewisburg PA at 10AM. Immediately following the visitation will be a Celebration of Shirley’s Life at 11AM with a fellowship meal to follow at 12:30 PM, also at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

Presiding at the Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be Reverand Jerry Fourroux, Reverand Jamie Bonnett and Meredith Terry Manchester, MDiv, JD.

A private committal service will be held at Twin Hills Memorial Park in Muncy.
