Deloras A. Seese, of Macungie, PA, peacefully passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in South Williamsport, PA, the place she always called home regardless of her address. Her joyful nature, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering generosity made her a beloved figure to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She married the love of her life, Daniel Seese, on August 2, 1958, in their hometown of South Williamsport. Together, they raised three children and built a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories. In 1986, after 14 years of working in the food service industry at Williamsport Area High School, Deloras retired, and she and Daniel moved to Hollidaysburg, PA, for a short while before returning to DuBoistown on Euclid Avenue, where they made many more lasting memories.
Deloras was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener, finding peace in the rhythm of pulling weeds and tending to the beautiful flowers and plants around her home–something many of her neighbors fondly witnessed as they passed by. She also enjoyed reading, completing word search puzzles, and solving jigsaw puzzles, activities that she took great comfort in during her retirement years.
In retirement, Deloras and Daniel embraced a new chapter of life as snowbirds, spending their winters in Florida. Their visits were often filled with trips to Disney World, where they shared the magic of the parks with their grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Deloras’ warmth and love extended not only to her family but to all who knew her, always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a smile that could light up the room.
Deloras is survived by her loving husband of almost 67 years, Daniel Seese; their three children, Denise Mertes of Bradenton, FL, Diane Walcome of Peoria, AZ, and Doug Seese (Tammy) of Macungie, PA; as well as six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Davis, her siblings, Mary Louise Mundrick, Betty Mines, and Joseph Hubbard and her son in law, Barry Walcome. Deloras was a woman of quiet strength and deep compassion, a true matriarch who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service to honor Deloras will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at Sanders.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Deloras’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg PA 17110.
