Kathleen A. Raker “Kat”

Kathleen A. Raker “Kat,” 90, of Williamsport, died peacefully Saturday on June 28, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport.
Born March 8, 1935 in Smoke Hole, W.V., she was the daughter of John F. and Clara M. (Vanmeter) Alt. Kathleen married Kenneth W. Raker on Jan. 27, 1955, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Kathleen and her husband shared a wonderful life. Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed the family gatherings at her home on holidays, and visiting her family yearly in West Virginia.
Family was the most important part of her life. She was very meticulous about her home, and would cook and feed anyone who would come to visit. Kathleen was previously employed at GTE Sylvania for many years.
The Raker family would like to thank all of Kathleen’s caregivers for the wonderful care she received.
Kathleen is survived by daughters, Tina M. (Dennis) Mertes, of Cogan Station, Pamela K. Raker, of Williamsport; son, Michael K. (Janet) Raker, of Trout Run; sisters, Thomasine E. Berg, Ganel A. Armentrout, Millie G. Hedrick, Sheila J. Kimble; brothers, Loy A. Alt, James A. Alt; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Raker; grandson, Sean M. Raker; sisters, Wilma Wagner, Bertha Alt, Bessie Kimble, Zola Kile; brothers, Ervin, Burley, Raymond, William, and Charles Alt.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Pastor Martin Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, July 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday July 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
