Linda D. Boyles, 70, Montoursville, died Saturday, July 5, 2025, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence. Born February 28, 1955, in Williamsport, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lester and the late Edna Herr.
Linda and her loving husband Gary shared a wonderful life, married since June of 1980.
Linda graduated from South Williamsport High School and went on to work as an Administrator in Human Resources at UPMC for 29 years.
When you ask anyone who knew Linda, they would describe her as one of the nicest people they'd ever known. She was always so kind, giving and patient. She loved helping people with any chance she had. Linda was also a very loving and generous mother and grandmother, always giving her time to her children and grandchildren. You could easily find her at every single sporting event, regardless of the day, time or weather. Baseball was always a favorite of hers. A well-known cook and baker and in her free time, she loved to spend time in her garden. She always had endless flowers throughout her yard that she was very proud of. Nearing retirement, she grew very fond of her dogs. They became more like children. Taking them on long walks throughout her property nearly every day. Even when her health started to decline, she was dedicated to continuing their walks and letting them play in the pond at the farm below their property.
In recent years, her and Gary purchased some land in Hillsgrove that sits on the creekside where she spent many of her days. Having picnics with her family, swimming endlessly with her grandchildren and enjoying nature. Her family plans to continue her made traditions of spending time at 'The Lot' having picnics and taking her dogs on their beloved long walks to the pond. Although she will be dearly missed and nothing will ever be the same without her. She will rest peacefully knowing how much she was loved.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary Boyles, of Montoursville; two sons, Ben (Emily) Boyles, of Montoursville, Russell (Maureen) Boyles, of Reading; daughter, Brittany (Tim) Diehl, of Muncy; five granddaughters, Isabel, Cheyenne, Adelyn, Vivian Boyles, Piper Diehl; three grandsons, Cooper Boyles, Michael, and Beau Diehl; brother, William (Joan) Herr, of York.
