Ellen Muriel Bardo

Ellen Muriel Bardo, 73, formerly of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Jersey Shore Skilled Nursing Center.

Born September 18, 1951, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Donald Emerson Bardo and Barbara (Heilman) Bardo.

Ellen was a graduate of Muncy High School and began her career at Sprout-Waldron, where she worked faithfully for many years until its closure. Embracing new opportunities, she returned to school and earned her Associate’s degree in Human Services from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2009.

Music was Ellen’s lifelong passion. She served as organist and choir director at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clarkstown and later at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Williamsport. A proud member of the American Guild of Organists and a longtime member of the West Branch Chorale, Ellen’s musical gifts touched many lives. A devoted Lutheran, Ellen’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and lived each day with a quiet confidence in her risen Christ.

Surviving are her brother, Donald Bardo of Camp Hill, PA; her sister, Jean Bardo of Savannah, GA; her aunt, Elizabeth Heilman of Muncy; and her beloved cat and constant companion, Gracie.

A funeral service to honor Ellen’s life will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 13, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1101 Washinton Blvd., Williamsport. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran- Brick Church Cemetery, Montgomery. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at church.
