Heather A. Mitcheltree

Heather A. Mitcheltree, 58, of South Williamsport, passed from this world on August 21, 2025 to be with Jesus in her heavenly home after a short illness.
Born April 29, 1967, she was the daughter of Carla (Roles) Mitcheltree and Gerald Mitcheltree, Jr. and his wife Bonnie.
Heather’s Christian faith was the guiding light of her life. She attended Community Baptist Church and participated in a Bible study group at Northway Community Church. Her love for worship and upbeat music filled her home with an atmosphere of hope and celebration. She cherished her time spent at the YMCA’s Superstars program, the Salvation Army Golden Agers program, and the Friendship club at Agape Church, where she met many new friends. She had an insatiable appetite for social gatherings, reveling in the company of both familiar faces and newcomers alike.
Her passion for creating handmade cards for every occasion, and especially for those in need of a pick-me-up, touched countless hearts. An avid BINGO player, Heather’s enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and her presence at the table was always a source of joy for her fellow players. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her frequent visits to the park. An active participant in her local community, Heather’s volunteer work was a reflection of her selfless nature. She diligently kept her food box pantry on 4th street stocked, ensuring that those around her did not go hungry. Heather delighted in the magic of the movies, the drama of plays, and the vibrancy of musicals with the Wizard of Oz being her absolute favorite.
The Shared Support Residential Services program played a pivotal role in Heather’s life, providing her with an incredible support team that enabled her to live independently. The care and dedication of this program allowed Heather to flourish and pursue her passions without restraint. You always knew when she accepted you as one of her team as she would call you “Bum.” Although she had limited capabilities, it never stopped her from enjoying life to the fullest. Heather had the best smile and her laugh was infectious. If you were having a not so good day, it was a good time to stop by Heathers. She would lift your mood. Heather shared God’s light wherever she was.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her brothers, Craig Mitcheltree of Linden and Kevin Mitcheltree of Cogan Station; twin sister, Heidi Mackey (Sean) of Trout Run; nephews, Steven and Joshua; niece, Andrea; as well as several extended family members and dear friends.
Burial will be held privately in St. Michael’s Lutheran Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
In memory of Heather, please add non-perishable food items to the Food Pantry Box at 4th and Walnut St., Williamsport.
