Irvin W. Michael

Irvin W. Michael, 91, of Muncy Valley, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at The Gatehouse.
Born Oct. 9, 1933, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Milo and Ocie (Phillips) Michael. He and his wife, the former, Patricia A. Young, celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 2, 2025.
Irvin served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Muncy VFW. He was a talented woodworker who handcrafted several grandfather clocks and various other pieces of fine furniture. Irvin enjoyed the outdoors and would often be found gardening, bird watching or metal detecting. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and reloading ammunition.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Irvin “Bud” (Barbara) Michael of Williamsport, Ronnie (Nancy) Michael of Muncy Valley and Chad (Shasta) Michael of Muncy Valley; two daughters, Belinda (Dale) Moser of Dushore and Natalie Felix of Muncy Valley; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence (Karen) Michael of Muncy.
In addition to his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Shoemaker, Eldora Davis and Shirley Simon; a brother, George Michael; a son-in-law, Rick Felix; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at Muncy Cemetery, 204 East Penn Street, Muncy, with Pastor John Neiswender officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the combined veteran’s organizations. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home-Hughesville, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
