Jane M. Cawley

Jane M. Cawley, 84, of Williamsport and formerly of Canton, passed away at home on Thursday, August 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 28, 1941, in Larksville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Bernadine (Klarminski) Budzinski.
Jane was a 1959 graduate of Plymouth High School and went on to work as a News Editor for the former Canton Independent Sentinel.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, William E. “Bill” Cawley, Sr. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family in the Canton community before moving and eventually retiring to the Williamsport area. Jane and Bill embraced the role of grandparents, treasuring every special moment and blessing shared with their growing family. Family was the heart of Jane’s life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy, and she never missed a chance to show her unwavering love and support.
She was a die-hard Red Sox fan who rarely missed a game, always rooting for her favorite team. She had a special love for the Christmas season, always ready to bring those she loved most together with good food and gift giving.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Barbara Christensen of Enola, William Cawley, Jr. (Rebecca), of Bridgeville, Patricia Jones (Michael) of Williamsport, and Michael Cawley (Tammy), of Dexter, MO; four grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, Nathan, and Kaitlin; a brother, Gerald Budzinski, of Mine Hill, NJ; and her beloved dog, Lucy.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two siblings, Barbara Killganon, and Anthony “Bud” Budzinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Jane’s life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 16 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 1305 Northway Rd, Williamsport, PA 17701. The family will receive friends from 9:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Saturday at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jane’s name to the Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o Home Care and Hospice, 1001 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA 17701.
