John Kennedy Hauke

John Kennedy Hauke, 60, of Cogan Station, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his home, surrounded by love. Born August 15, 1965, in Williamsport, he was the beloved son of the late George J. Hauke, Jr., and Patricia J. Brion of Casa Grande, AZ.
John lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. More than anything, he cherished being a devoted husband, father, and PawPaw. He and his wife, Crystal, shared not only 25 years of marriage but also a lifelong love story that first began as kids meeting at the Newberry baseball field at just 12 years old. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever.
A 1983 graduate of South Williamsport High School and later Penn College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management, John carried his work ethic and determination into every part of his life. Over the years, he was part owner of The Montour Lanes, The Classic Rock CafÈ, and Alley Kat CafÈ until their closing in 2004. For more than 20 years afterward, he was a familiar and friendly face at Montour Beverage until his health no longer allowed him to work.
John’s love for people and community shone through in all he did. He was a proud and avid bowler, mastering his craft on the lanes and enjoying countless hours with teammates and friends. Outside of bowling, John was a dedicated sports fan–he loved watching baseball, football, and NASCAR, and he found joy in following his favorite teams and races. He was also a member of the Moose Club of South Williamsport and the Polish Club of Newberry. Wherever he went, he left behind kindness, humor, and a helping hand.
Above all, John’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his loving mother, Patricia J. (Herbert) Bloxsom; his wife and soulmate, Crystal Hauke; his children, daughter Nichole Nihart (Joseph Probst) of South Williamsport, Dusty (Amber) Skrutsky of Cogan Station, and Meggan Rogers (Shawn Wolfgang) of Trout Run; and his brothers, G. Michael Hauke (Michelle Terry) of Williamsport and Patrick (Cindy) Hauke of Westminster, MD. John was blessed with eight grandchildren, who were the light of his life–Jordyn, Talyn, Kamdyn, Bentley, Karsyn, Baylor, Beckham, and Lakelynn–who will forever remember their PawPaw’s love, laughter, and hugs.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his father, George J. Hauke, Jr.; stepfather, Herbert Bloxsom; sister-in-law, Chrissy Hauke; niece, Heather Hauke; uncle, Robert Hauke; and his in-laws, William and Marsha Knapp.
