Louise M. (Hess) Baker

Louise M. (Hess) Baker, 77, of Linden passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at home surrounded by family.
Born August 29, 1948 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Gordon L. and Margaret L. (King) Hess.
Louise earned her degree in Business Administration from Penn State University and worked for 11 years in physician billing at UPMC before dedicating her time as a private caregiver, a role she truly loved. She was a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, sewing, cross stitch, knitting, and delighted many by making handmade desktop calendars from her scrapbooking projects, donating the proceeds to help others. Louise also spent many Wednesday evenings crafting with the residents of the Presbyterian Home, bringing joy through her time and talents.
She lived a life filled with love, creativity, and joy. An original Disney Musketeer, she carried her passion for all things Disney throughout her life, cherishing the tradition of taking each of her grandchildren on special trips to Walt Disney World.
Louise loved to travel, especially to tropical all-inclusive destinations like Aruba and Jamaica, but her greatest joy was found at home, where she built a beautiful life with her husband, Tom, whom she married on May 13, 1967. More than anything, Louise treasured her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother always making her family the center of her world.
Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas H. Baker, III; their children, Kevin T. Baker (Kate) of Cogan Station, Keith G. Baker (Amy) of Pittsburgh, and Denise M. Bean (Scott) of McElhattan; seven grandchildren, Alicia, Sarah, Seth, Mackenzie, Paige, Matthew (Jordan), and Hunter; and four great-grandchildren, Ryland, Aberdeen, Nali, and Grant; three brothers, Charles Hess (Linda) of Cogan Station, Craig Hess of Bellefonte, and Dale Hess (Ann) of Williamsport; a sister, Martha Searfoss of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Toni Hess and a niece, Lisa Hess.
A funeral service to honor Louise’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louise’s name may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 600 Corporate Circle, Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
