Norma A. (Ryder) Bower

Norma A (Ryder) Bower, born in Williamsport, Pa., on July 24, 1933, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at The Gatehouse on August 30, 2025 with her daughter by her side.

Norma retired from Shop Vac in Williamsport. She was a life long member of Lycoming Valley Baptist Church in Montoursville, Pa.

She is survived by four sons, Bruce L. (Cathy) Bower, Mark S. (Jane) Bower, Bernard P. (Patricia) Bower Jr., and Edward G. (Giuseppina) Bower II; a daughter, Suzanne M. Bower-Smith; 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Ryder; mother, Violet M, Ryder; a brother, Eugene Ryder; and a sister, Maxine Ryder Wise.

In keeping with Norma’s wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be sent in Norma’s name to Lycoming Valley Baptist, 4980 Lycoming Mall Drive, Montoursville, Pa. 17754.
