Christine Duck

Christine Duck, age 81, of Allenwood, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous 16-year journey with stage IV breast cancer.

Born on May 26, 1944, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Christine was the daughter of the late Walter and Violet Elensky. She was a graduate of Curwensville High School, Class of 1962.

Christine was married for 63 years to the love of her life, James Duck, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion, laughter, and unwavering love.

Christine spent time working at the Clearfield Cheese Plant before taking on her most important role, raising her children. Later in life, she was employed at General Cable.

In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by her beloved children, James Duck Jr., Michael Duck (Michelle), Timothy Duck (Becky), and Suzanne Young (Craig); her sister-daughter, Marjorie Cameron (Steve); and her siblings, Walter Elensky Jr., James Elensky, Allan Elensky (Nancy), Larry Elensky (Tammy), Ronald Elensky, Mary Wilson (Doug), and brother-in-law, Jack Duck. Christine was preceded in death by her brothers, William Elensky, Robert Elensky, and Clifford Elensky.

Christine was the cherished grandmother of Heather, Brittany, Ashley, DJ, Darien, Samantha, and Abigail, and the loving great-grandmother of Beckett, Emerson, Leila, Warren, and Kai, all of whom she adored and who brought her endless pride and joy.

Christine’s life was defined by her strength, compassion, and steadfast dedication to her family. She possessed a stubborn spirit that carried her through every challenge, never wanting anyone to worry about her, even in the hardest moments. She faced her illness with remarkable bravery and grace, always greeting others with a smile and never letting on how much she was suffering.

She was also the heartbeat of laughter in her family, quick-witted, funny, and full of life. Nearly every family story includes Christine at its center, whether through her sharp humor, her perfectly timed one-liners, or her ability to find joy even in the most ordinary moments. She was the glue that held everyone together. She made her family laugh up until the very end.

Christine faced every season of life with courage, warmth, and an unshakable love that made everyone around her feel cared for. Her generosity, humor, and faith left an imprint on every person she met.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Services for Christine will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Christine’s life and memory.
