Dale R. Bowersox

Dale R. Bowersox, 85, of Montoursville, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at his home. Born May 10, 1940, in Middleburg, he was the son of Jeremiah R. and Mabel M. (Shambach) Bowersox.

Dale married Linda M. Kline on Jan. 25, 1964 and shared 61 years of marriage.

Dale and his wife, Linda, shared a wonderful life. Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Dale graduated from Middleburg High School and Pennsylvania State University. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years with active duty in Azores.

His love for flying continued after leaving the Air Force. He obtained his Private Pilot’s License and flew his own small plane for several years.

He worked for Pennsylvania Power & Light for 29 Years. After his family grew, he became interested in photography. Later in life he found an interest in woodworking, where he left behind a collection of beautiful pieces of furniture.

The one passion that lasted throughout his lifetime was his love of deer hunting on his family’s farmland in Snyder County.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda M. Bowersox, of Montoursville; son, Eric R. (Kayleen) Bowersox, of Muncy; daughter, Valerie L. (Mehrdad) Jahanshahi, of Muncy; sister, Rachael McCardle, of Middleburg; brother, Randall (Maureen) Bowersox, of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Jesse (Kayla) Bowersox and Sage Bowersox; great-grandchildren, Layna, and Lenni Bowersox.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Shaffer, and brother, Jerry Bowersox.

Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with Pastor Marion Handley officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, PA 17754.
