Deane Beverly Macgill went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 23, 2025, from Leighton Place, Williamsport, PA.
Born January 16, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward J. Rexer, Sr. and Ernestine Christine (Molz) Rexer. Deane married Leonard (George) Macgill from Nisbet, PA in 1957. They shared 63 years together raising five children.
Deane led a life of love and commitment to God, her family, friends, and community. She was a teacher to all with her skills as a baker, gardener, seamstress, and quilter. Deane was a long-time member of Lincoln Falls Wesleyan Church. One of many joys in her life were frequent trips to fish in Maine with daughter, Chris, and visits to fish with two daughters in Montana.
Deane volunteered for many years as a judge at the Sullivan County Fair. For years she placed entrees for her sewing, baking, and floral arrangements at the fair. Deane's home was always a place of comfort and welcome, where love could be felt in every detail-from the gardens blooming outside to the meals she lovingly prepared for family and friends. She poured her heart into everything she did, especially the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Deane was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2020; brother, Joseph Rexer; and stepbrother Ronnie Rexer.
She is survived by her five children, Garry and Carlene Macgill, Trout Run, PA; Chris Macgill and Rob Rabuttinio, Rome, PA; Dianne and Dan Mathis, Trout Creek, MT; Scott and Chris Macgill, Trout Run, PA; and Amy and John Charnitski, Cardwell, MT; five grandchildren, Robert (Tara) Macgill, Christine Macgill Helm, Blair (Crystal) Fry, Jessica (Kyle) Spako, and Ashley Charnitski; seven great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Rexer, Jr. and spouse Dottie; a niece, and five nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Leighton Place, UPMC Hospice, and Dr. Leanna Lyne for their care and support.
A private service will be held at the convenience of family.
