Doris Eda (Rolley) Entz
Doris Eda (Rolley) Entz passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born in Phillipsburg, on September 30, 1933 to Ernest and Kathryn Rolley. Doris was a lifelong member of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church and served God all of her life. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society while her children attended St. Josephs School.
Doris led an extraordinary and beautiful life, raising five children in a strong Catholic family. She and her husband Bill took an amazing journey filled with joy and laughter. They started out living on Andrews Place, next to Avco. Although Bill may have been the only man in the neighborhood who didn’t work at Avco! The Entz family lived on West 4th Street in a working-class neighborhood for most of their married lives.
Doris was ahead of her time. She became a working woman before it was common to have both parents working. She went to work at the Lycoming Hotel, (which became the Genetti) once her children were grown. Then she went to work for the Williamsport School District as an aide, helping to educate children for the remainder of her career, retiring in 2005. She became a full-time grammy after that for her 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She watched Holy Mass nearly every day on television when she was able, as she always had God in her life.
Doris and Bill spent many summers at their cabin on the Loyalsock. Her life was a quiet one, with blessings that came in the form of love and laughter. She leaves behind memories of family, of life on West 4th Street, and of cherished times: sidewalk chalk, kids at play, and peels of laughter from up & down the street.
Doris’ surviving family are W. Gregory (Kim), Karen (Ray) Eck, Angela Colley, and Mark (Connie). She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bill, and her son, Kevin. Doris had 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on November 4, 2025 at St Joseph the Worker (Annunciation) Catholic Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Montgomery Food Bank in Doris’ name.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
