Harold E. “Junior” Grimes, Jr.
Harold E. “Junior” Grimes, Jr., 74, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence in Williamsport.
Born on June 4, 1951, in Williamsport, Junior was a son of the late Harold E. Grimes, Sr. and June Ruth Louise (Johnson) Grimes.
Junior retired in 2004 from Springs Window Fashions, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a friend to many. His involvement with Trinity Gospel Church reflected his strong faith and commitment to his community. Junior’s interests were diverse and brought him much joy. He was an avid movie watcher, and photographer, capturing many precious moments of his family and the beauty of nature. Junior also had a deep interest in ancestry research, spending countless hours on his computer tracing the roots of his family tree.
Junior is survived by his beloved wife, Leta G. (Silsbee) Grimes, and two sons, Adam Grimes (Allison) and Dustin Bennett (Christine). He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, four grandchildren, Westin Bennett, Veronica Thayer (Ben), Cameryne Bailey (Tyler), and Adam Grimes, II (Kealey), seven great-grandchildren, and sister, Dixie Brandt (Donald). He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, and will be deeply missed by his dogs, Max and Tyson.
Along with his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his brother Robert W. “Bob” Grimes, and his beloved dog, Rex.
A graveside service to honor Junior’s life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Steam Valley Cemetery.
